Retail Area Manager – Italy

About the role

The Retail Area Manager will lead Gucci’s retail network across Italy, reporting to the General Manager Southern Europe. The role is responsible for driving sales growth, implementing the retail strategy and ensuring profitable operations in a luxury fashion environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to maximise sales, revenue and market share in line with Gucci’s targets.
• Own P&L performance, implement cost‑saving measures and monitor productivity.
• Analyse sales data, KPIs and market trends to forecast volumes and guide store‑level actions.
• Oversee inventory management, stock optimisation and collaboration with merchandising and retail operations.
• Lead, coach and motivate store leadership teams, working closely with HR on recruitment, talent development and performance reviews.
• Conduct regular store visits, assess client sentiment and ensure best‑in‑class customer service, safety and brand standards.
• Identify and develop business opportunities with external partners, plan events and collaborations.
• Perform competitor analysis to continuously improve store performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in retail management within the luxury or fashion sector.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of achieving sales and profitability targets.
• Excellent leadership and people‑development skills, able to inspire multi‑store teams.
• Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable plans.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management across cross‑functional teams.
