Robotics Software Platform Engineer (Staff) – Turin

About the role

We are seeking a Robotics Software Platform Engineer (Staff level) to design and evolve the software stack that powers Arduino’s high‑performance Linux platforms. The role focuses on building Python frameworks, containerised tools and integrating ROS/ROS2 into the Arduino ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python‑based frameworks and libraries that simplify complex robotics standards.
• Architect containerised environments and runners optimised for robotics middleware on embedded Linux platforms.
• Integrate industry‑standard robotics patterns such as ROS and ROS2 into the Arduino ecosystem.
• Create high‑quality example applications and documentation that define the “Golden Path” for developers.
• Collaborate with software architects to define technical solutions using modern development technologies.
• Ensure code consistency, efficiency and quality through automated testing, code reviews and continuous integration.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience designing software platforms for robotics or embedded systems.
• Strong collaborative mindset and ability to work in cross‑functional teams.
• Passion for open‑source hardware and robotics middleware.
