Room Service Attendant

About the role

The Room Service Attendant ensures that the hotel’s guest areas are clean, well‑stocked, and ready for service at the end of each shift. Working within Marriott International’s Poltu Quatu location, you will support the overall guest experience by completing closing duties and maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform closing duties: store reusable items, break down goods, clean equipment, lock refrigerators, restock supplies, turn off lights and lock doors.
• Follow a daily cleaning checklist and practice clean‑as‑you‑go procedures throughout the shift.
• Inspect and maintain the cleanliness and presentation of china, glassware, and silverware before use.
• Set up, stock, and keep work areas organized, ensuring all items are returned to their proper locations.
• Welcome guests, answer telephone calls with professional etiquette, and uphold uniform standards.
• Report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions and complete required safety training.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• No prior related work experience required.
• No supervisory experience or specific licenses needed.

Required skills

• Ability to read and verify information in small print.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, lift and move objects up to 50 lb, and navigate uneven or slippery surfaces.
• Clear verbal communication and professional telephone etiquette.
