SAP Basis Lead Consultant

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced SAP Basis Lead to manage a complex SAP landscape spanning Microsoft Azure, SAP RISE Private Cloud, and multiple SaaS solutions such as S/4HANA Public Cloud, IBP, C4C, SuccessFactors, and Concur. The role combines SAP governance, vendor management and operational coordination to guarantee platform stability, security and service quality, with a hybrid work model requiring 2‑3 days onsite in the Lombardy area.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee SAP environments operated by external vendors, ensuring compliance with company standards and service level agreements.
• Lead incident resolution and coordinate war‑room activities for critical issues.
• Manage maintenance windows, SAP patching and Security Notes implementation.
• Ensure seamless integration across SAP platforms, connectors, certificates and agents.
• Monitor performance using SAP Cloud ALM and support SAP BTP sub‑account administration.
• Oversee Azure Backup, disaster‑recovery processes and SSO configuration governance.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation and facilitate knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with internal IT teams and global external partners.

Required profile

• Strong experience managing outsourced SAP environments and vendor governance.
• Deep knowledge of SAP RISE, SAP Basis operations and SAP on Azure.
• Proven expertise in SAP patching, Security Notes, SSO and integration management.
• Familiarity with Azure Backup, Samba and NFS protocols.
• Excellent coordination and stakeholder management abilities.
• SAP S/4HANA and Microsoft Azure certifications are a plus.
