Senior Accounts Receivable Associate

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Accounts Receivable Associate to join its Finance, Accounting & Audit team in Milan. The role focuses on managing complex credit and collection activities, ensuring the financial health of the customer portfolio and supporting the company’s cash‑flow objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Commercial, Operations and Customer teams to resolve payment challenges while maintaining a positive customer experience.
• Manage a senior portfolio of high‑profile, high‑value accounts, ensuring timely cash collection and risk mitigation.
• Lead credit research, dispute resolution and account analysis to reduce overdue balances and bad‑debt exposure.
• Act as a system Subject Matter Expert, supporting AR processes and contributing to global initiatives.
• Support month‑end close, reporting and compliance activities to ensure accuracy and adherence to AR policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit & Collections or related finance roles, preferably managing complex customer portfolios.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, proactive and resilient with strong communication skills.
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of AR processes, credit risk and cash‑collection strategies.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and dedicated AR tools; ability to serve as a system super‑user.
• Advanced analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
