Senior Controls Engineer

About the role

The Senior Controls Engineer will lead the maintenance, improvement and optimisation of control systems for manufacturing equipment, including machines, robots, vision inspection and measurement programmes. You will work autonomously to solve complex automation challenges and support production continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve advanced programming issues in PLC‑based control systems and automation equipment.
• Design, develop and optimise control concepts for automated machinery and production lines.
• Debug and enhance robot‑to‑PLC interface programmes to ensure seamless integration.
• Maintain and upgrade vision inspection systems used in the automation process.
• Provide technical training and hands‑on support to technicians and maintenance personnel.
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency, reliability and safety of assembly lines.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging hardware and software technologies.
• Execute special projects as directed by management.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Minimum five years of hands‑on experience in industrial control systems, automation or robotics.
• Proven ability to work independently and respond to urgent production needs outside standard hours.
