Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

As a Senior Internal Auditor you will join MSC Cruises’ Audit & Risk team, working closely with management to identify risks, assess internal controls and provide practical recommendations that improve efficiency and strengthen the internal control system. The role combines shore‑based audit work with occasional onboard assignments, offering a unique view of both corporate and operational processes.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and business processes.
• Perform audit fieldwork, analyse documentation and conduct independent assessments.
• Identify risks, root causes and audit findings, and propose practical recommendations.
• Support financial and operational audits in line with MSC Cruises’ audit methodology.
• Prepare clear, high‑quality audit reports and follow‑up on action plans.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Collaborate with senior team members on policy reviews and risk register updates.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in engineering, finance, economics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in internal or external audit within a Big 4, consulting firm or large international organisation.
• Full professional proficiency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
• Professional certifications such as CIA, CFE, ACCA or CISA are advantageous.
