Senior Project Manager – Battery Energy Storage Systems (Italy)

About the role

As a Senior Project Manager for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) within Tesla Energy EMEA, you will lead the delivery of large‑scale turnkey battery storage projects across Italy. You will work closely with sales, engineering, and construction teams to ensure projects are procured, built, and commissioned safely, on time, and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Support the sales and specification phase by preparing tender documents and managing the tender process.
• Identify, evaluate, and appoint approved contractors; oversee their performance throughout construction and commissioning.
• Visit potential sites, conduct assessments, and liaise with customers, contractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure all work complies with local codes, Tesla standards, and health‑and‑safety requirements; conduct site inspections and enforce H&S compliance.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and cost‑effectiveness, providing regular feedback to the wider Tesla Energy team.
• Gather and disseminate local regulatory and H&S requirements; support permitting and approval processes.
• Perform additional duties as required to drive project success.

Required profile

• Significant experience selecting, procuring, and managing contractors for high‑value commercial/industrial electrical projects.
• Proven track record in health‑and‑safety management and relevant H&S qualifications.
• Strong knowledge of Italian electrical codes and regulations.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, strong attention to detail, and excellent written communication.
• Professional fluency in English and Italian.
