Senior Utilities & Facility Engineer

About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Senior Utilities & Facility Engineer is responsible for ensuring operational continuity, utilities optimisation and regulatory compliance across two industrial plants in Parma and Reggio Emilia.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic oversight and performance optimisation of thermal power plants, compressed air systems, fluid/gas distribution networks and cooling water systems.
• Management of critical assets such as chillers and industrial burners to maximise reliability and minimise downtime.
• Definition and supervision of maintenance plans for buildings, yards and auxiliary structures, including budget control.
• Energy‑efficiency and decarbonisation projects, including monitoring of electricity, gas and water consumption.
• Negotiation and management of maintenance contracts, supervision of on‑site works and full economic cycle management.
• Ensuring legal compliance with inspections, fire‑safety regulations and PED directive, in collaboration with the HSE manager.
• Design and roll‑out of a paperless digital system for utilities and facility documentation.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical, Energy, Industrial Management or Civil/Environmental Engineering.
• 5–8 years of experience as a Facility/Utilities Engineer or Manager in a complex industrial environment.
• Strong leadership, negotiation and strategic vision, with a valid driving licence (Category B).
