Ship’s Doctor – Onboard Cruise Vessels

About the role

Join Costa’s Hospital Team as a Ship’s Doctor and provide high‑quality medical care to crew and passengers aboard cruise vessels. You will act as the primary medical point of contact, ensuring compliance with company standards while delivering emergency and routine healthcare services.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main contact for all medical matters on board, guaranteeing full compliance with company procedures.
• Deliver clinic services, on‑call duties, and emergency care to crew and guests.
• Manage medical cases, emergencies, disembarkations, and referrals ashore in coordination with the Chief Doctor.
• Foster collaboration within the Hospital Team and act as a cultural ambassador for Costa.
• Maintain accurate medical records and uphold company values through independent, responsible work.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialization in Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care or related fields.
• Minimum 3 years post‑graduate experience and at least 6 months full‑time certified work in an emergency setting (ER, ICU, ambulance).
• Current enrollment in the Italian Doctors Professional Order.
• Good command of English (minimum B2) and availability for two onboard contracts of 3‑4 months each (total ≥6 months per year).

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.
• Advanced Pediatric Life Support (APLS) certification.
• Strong computer literacy (email, internet browsing, office tools).
