Signalling Verification & Validation Engineer

About the role

HITACHI RAIL STS S.P.A. is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Verification & Validation Engineer for its Signalling team, based in Naples, Italy. The position is full time and involves a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic, in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run laboratory tests in a simulated environment.
• Analyse and verify railway signalling logic for the IXL Subsystem, including analysis and static analysis.
• Support the Validation team in defining, organising and running validation activities for a project.
• Carry out all testing and validation in line with company standards, contract requirements, project schedule, approved test procedures and quality, safety and environmental objectives (CEN/CEI standards).
• Create and issue test documentation and reports, and manage the configuration of documentation and software in the laboratory.
• Troubleshoot, identify and resolve system and subsystem issues.

Required profile

• Master's degree (Engineering) or equivalent in Electronic, Informatics, Computer Engineering or Information Technology.
• Fluent English.
• Experience in implementation engineering processes covering testing and validation, and good knowledge of hardware and software systems.
• Comfortable working in multi-functional and international projects, within a project/functional matrix organisation.

Required skills

• Basic railway signalling knowledge.
• Programming languages such as C, C++, C# and Java, and Python.
• Structural analysis and problem-solving skills.

The pay scale is 35k to 45k, under the private metalworking industry collective agreement (CCNL) at level B2.
