Software Design Engineer

About the role

Angelini Technologies – Fameccanica is looking for a Software Design Engineer to join its Automation Converting Engineering team. Depending on your background, you will work either on Platforming & Engineering Tools or on Automation & Motion Control, collaborating with hardware engineers, automation specialists and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain configurators, templates, software libraries and EPLAN macros that support engineering activities.
• Design and implement C# applications following object‑oriented principles.
• Standardise and integrate hardware and software engineering processes.
• Program and configure industrial automation systems, primarily using the Rockwell platform.
• Develop motion‑control solutions for industrial machinery and support testing, validation and commissioning.
• Work closely with engineering, prototyping teams and customer technical contacts to gather requirements and improve tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in industrial automation, software programming or electrical design is preferred; recent graduates with relevant projects or internships are also considered.
• Strong analytical, mathematical and logical reasoning abilities.
• Fluent English communication skills.

• PLC programming and motion‑control principles.
• Rockwell automation platform.
• EPLAN macro development.
