Software Test Engineer

About the role

ASEM, a subsidiary of Rockwell Automation since 2020, operates in industrial automation, test and measurement, offering industrial PCs, HMIs, control systems and Industrial IoT gateways. As a Software Test Engineer you will contribute to the development and validation of FactoryTalk Optix, a visualization platform for industrial environments. You will work with experienced engineers to support software testing across the development lifecycle, report to the Test & Technical Project Manager, and follow a hybrid schedule based in Verona.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out software testing, including test design, execution and reporting
• Help create and maintain manual and automated test cases under guidance
• Develop automated tests using Python or Squish
• Take part in reviews of requirements, designs and test cases
• Monitor test results and report software defects
• Maintain test documentation according to team standards
• Collaborate with global teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Build and update test cases for continuous integration, and learn testing methodologies, tools and best practices

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent education
• 1+ year of experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• English skills
• Preferred: exposure to test automation tools, virtualization concepts (e.g. VMware), interest in industrial automation, and experience in team-based development

Required skills

• Basic knowledge or initial experience in software testing
• Basic programming knowledge, preferably Python or a similar language
• Familiarity with Windows or Linux operating systems
