Solar Field Technician – Piedmont (Italy)

About the role

Our client, a leading international renewable energy company, is expanding its operations in Italy and seeks skilled Solar Field Technicians for utility‑scale photovoltaic farms in the Piedmont region. The role involves hands‑on installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of solar PV systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission and test solar PV modules, inverters, transformers and related electrical components according to technical specifications.
• Perform pre‑commissioning inspections, quality checks and grid‑connection procedures.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, and replace defective panels, inverters, cables or junction boxes.
• Monitor system performance, identify optimisation opportunities and support continuous improvement.
• Conduct risk assessments, enforce health‑and‑safety protocols and ensure compliance with Italian electrical standards.
• Provide technical support to operations teams, collaborate with engineers and report issues for resolution.

Required profile

• Electrical qualification or equivalent technical certification.
• Minimum 2‑3 years proven experience working on solar PV installations.
• Strong knowledge of inverters, transformers, high‑voltage and low‑voltage distribution systems.
• Fluent Italian and good command of English for daily operations and client communication.
