Staff & Global R&D Legal Counsel

About the role

Chiesi is seeking a Staff & Global R&D Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support to its Staff functions and Global Research & Development activities. The role acts as a legal business partner, ensuring that projects and contracts align with applicable laws, internal policies, and the company’s strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and risk assessment for all Staff functions, including corporate and globally‑responsible units.
• Support Finance and Global Procurement teams with intercompany agreements and vendor contracts.
• Serve as the primary legal contact for R&D procurement matters, negotiating and managing agreements with CROs, CMOs and other R&D service providers.
• Draft, negotiate, and execute a wide range of commercial contracts.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional project teams to ensure legal compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience supporting corporate, finance, procurement and R&D functions.
• Strong understanding of international commercial law and regulatory requirements in the biopharmaceutical sector.
• Proven ability to work on complex, high‑impact projects across multiple jurisdictions.
