Supplier Engineer – CNC Machining Expertise

About the role

We are seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to support the expansion and qualification of our European supply base for Build‑to‑Print (BTP) components and mechanical assemblies. The successful candidate will use strong manufacturing expertise, particularly in CNC machining processes, to identify, assess, qualify, and develop suppliers that meet Applied Materials’ quality, cost, delivery, and technology requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with engineering, sourcing, NPI, and supplier quality teams to define and communicate manufacturing requirements.
• Support manufacturability reviews, optimizing cost, quality, and lead time.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop new European suppliers for strategic sourcing.
• Conduct capability assessments, technical evaluations, and on‑site audits of CNC machining capabilities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, delivery, productivity, and cost competitiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in CNC machining environments.
• Strong understanding of Build‑to‑Print manufacturing processes.
• Deep knowledge of CNC milling, turning, multi‑axis machining, tooling, fixturing, and surface treatments.
