Technical Trade Compliance Specialist (EMEA)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Technical Trade Compliance Specialist to support import, export, customs and trade compliance activities for its operations in Italy and across the EMEA region. The role bridges engineering, manufacturing and logistics with regulatory requirements, ensuring the compliant movement of advanced equipment, spare parts and technology.

Key responsibilities

• Support import, export, customs and trade compliance for Italian operations and expand to other EMEA sites.
• Analyze engineering documentation, BOMs and technical drawings to determine customs and export control classifications.
• Administer customs authorizations, permits, export licenses and government applications.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, finance and tax teams to ensure compliant business processes.
• Participate in internal audits, risk assessments and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Fluent in Italian and professional English.
• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, logistics or high‑tech environments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% and work in a fast‑paced international setting.

Required skills

• Customs tariff classification (HS Codes / TARIC).
• Export control classification and licensing.
• SAP S/4HANA or similar ERP systems.
• Reading engineering drawings and technical manuals.
