Telephone Operator

About the role

The Telephone Operator provides essential guest communication support within a luxury hotel environment. You will answer, record, and process all guest calls, ensuring timely and accurate handling of requests, messages, and special needs.

Key responsibilities

• Answer and log guest calls, requests, and concerns via the telephone switchboard.
• Process wake‑up calls, screening, do‑not‑disturb, call forwarding, conference and TDD relay calls.
• Relay messages accurately and activate/deactivate guest room message lights.
• Assist guests with internet access and direct technical issues to the provider’s support line.
• Test communications equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Coordinate with bell, valet, and other hotel departments to fulfill guest requests.
• Maintain confidentiality, follow company policies, and uphold professional appearance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; training will be provided.
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and lift objects up to 10 lb.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and clear, professional communication.

Required skills

• Telephone switchboard operation.
• Basic computer and POS system usage.
