Usability Engineer - User Science

About the role

We are looking for a Usability Engineer – User Science to join a forward‑thinking design environment in Italy. You will help establish scalable user‑science practices, turning complex user data into actionable insights that shape product development and engineering decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research (usability testing, interviews, surveys, A/B testing, data analysis).
• Synthesize findings into clear reports, visualizations, and presentations for technical and business stakeholders.
• Develop lightweight prototypes, dashboards, automation scripts, or research tools to improve research accessibility and scalability.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and process teams to embed user‑centered insights into development cycles.
• Establish repeatable research methodologies, documentation standards, and knowledge‑sharing frameworks.
• Promote continuous learning by contributing to user‑science initiatives and educational resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Engineering, Data Science, HCI, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience conducting both qualitative and quantitative user research across multiple methods.
• Strong analytical abilities and the capacity to translate research data into practical product recommendations.
• Technical aptitude to understand engineering concepts and work effectively with highly technical teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex information.
• A portfolio demonstrating user research, design, engineering, or related projects with measurable impact.
