Freelance Material Scientist (Python) – AI Trainer

About the role

We are looking for a freelance Material Scientist with strong Python skills to help design and validate AI‑driven engineering problems. The work is project‑based, remote and focuses on creating realistic material‑science challenges for AI testing and evaluation.

Key responsibilities

• Design original material‑engineering problems that mimic real‑world workflows.
• Create Python‑based tasks that require numerical methods, iterative solutions or optimization.
• Base problems on actual research challenges or practical engineering applications.
• Verify solutions using Python and standard engineering libraries.
• Document problem statements clearly and provide verified correct answers.

Required profile

• Degree in Material Science or a related engineering field.
• Minimum 2 years of professional, research or teaching experience.
• Strong written English (C1 level or higher).
• Understanding of practical engineering constraints and approximations.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Numerical libraries such as NumPy, Pandas and SciPy.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL or Stata (any equivalent programming language).
