Application & Business Development Manager Automotive

About the role

This position offers an experienced automotive and materials engineering professional the chance to shape next‑generation mobility solutions across Europe. You will combine technical application development with business growth responsibilities, focusing on innovative automotive materials for electric‑vehicle battery casings, lighting systems and sustainable interior components.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and commercialization of automotive applications for European OEM accounts, emphasizing EV and sustainability projects.
• Drive technical validation and specification activities for advanced thermoplastic solutions from concept to start‑of‑production.
• Build, manage and convert a pipeline of technical opportunities while supporting long‑term account growth.
• Act as the primary technical interface between OEM customers and internal R&D, product management, sales and regulatory teams.
• Support material selection and application design by aligning customer needs with technical capabilities.
• Coordinate molding trials, application testing, technical seminars and customer workshops.
• Collaborate with commercial teams on opportunity progression, forecasting and business development.
• Contribute to sustainable, low‑carbon, recycled‑content and circular material initiatives.
• Provide insights on OEM technology roadmaps, market trends and future mobility requirements.
• Track opportunities, technical milestones and customer engagements in CRM and reporting systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the automotive and/or plastics industry in a technical or business development role.
• Strong expertise in thermoplastic solutions and automotive material applications.
