Country Manager – Italy

About the role

The Country Manager for Italy will lead AXA Partners' operations, overseeing a portfolio of approximately €300 M Gross Written Premium across multiple insurance lines. Reporting to regional senior leadership, this role is responsible for driving profitable growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering an excellent customer and employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Country Senior Leadership Team and own the P&L for Italy, driving profitable growth of approx. €300 M GWP across motor, health, home, travel, legal and credit & life protection lines.
• Develop and implement the country strategic plan and budget in line with AXA Partners global strategy, ensuring clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee regulatory, audit, compliance and security obligations for the legal entity, representing AXA Partners with government and statutory bodies.
• Drive business transformation initiatives to improve customer and employee journeys, working with global support functions.
• Lead business development, defining market opportunities, shaping commercial propositions and ensuring product launches meet local client needs.
• Manage site strategy, real‑estate, procurement and security matters, and lead business continuity and crisis management plans.
• Foster collaboration with other AXA entities in Italy to identify synergies and commercial growth opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience with full P&L responsibility, preferably in insurance or financial services.
• Strong track record of delivering profitable growth and managing large, cross‑functional teams (≈380 employees).
• Deep understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in Italy.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with government, partners and internal executives.
