About the role
Extia is looking for a DevOps Engineer to help a client transform its IT infrastructure into an automated, resilient, and data‑driven environment. You will reduce manual operations, enable predictive monitoring, accelerate release cycles, and introduce self‑healing capabilities across enterprise platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Automate complex VMware, IBM PowerVM, and enterprise storage environments, building repeatable workflows and pipelines.
- Standardize, version, and develop reusable Terraform and Ansible templates to eliminate configuration drift.
- Deploy advanced monitoring tools with AI/ML‑based anomaly detection and automated root‑cause analysis.
- Design, enhance, and align CI/CD pipelines with Infrastructure as Code to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
- Enhance the backup ecosystem (Veeam) with policy‑driven backups, automated recovery testing, and immutable backup solutions.
- Analyze logs and workload patterns to optimise virtualization/storage systems and drastically reduce MTTR.
Required profile
- Results‑oriented with strong analytical skills and excellent communication abilities.
- Comfortable working in cross‑functional teams and translating complex technical challenges into clear solutions.
- Deep expertise in VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) and enterprise storage architectures (SAN, NAS, FC, iSCSI, NFS).
- Hands‑on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD platforms such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
- Solid experience with Veeam Backup & Replication.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Bash scripting for automation.
- Strong background in SRE principles, DevOps practices, and infrastructure automation.
