Digital Pattern Cutter

About the role

Vivienne Westwood is seeking a Digital Pattern Cutter to join its Design studio in Milan. The role supports the design team by creating, digitising and finalising patterns for sampling, production and runway pieces, ensuring high‑quality construction and sustainability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop sampling and production patterns, as well as showpieces.
• Collaborate with designers during fittings and provide technical input for experimental garments.
• Digitise paper patterns and create new digital patterns using Lectra Modaris, Diamino and Clo3D.
• Prepare toiles, perform alterations, and suggest finishing solutions.
• Grade patterns when required and produce technical measurement sheets for manufacturers.
• Maintain the pattern archive (both paper and digital) and ensure software/hardware upkeep with Lectra.
• Communicate with vendors and internal teams in both Italian and English to resolve pattern‑related issues.
• Support quality control at studio and production levels, especially during peak periods.

Required profile

• Strong experience in pattern cutting within a fashion or luxury studio.
• Proficiency in English and Italian.
• Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to solve problems alongside designers and machinists.
• Capacity to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
