Production Testing Engineer

About the role

The Production Testing Engineer will support the definition, development, qualification and continuous improvement of test systems and processes within Thales' manufacturing environment in Gorgonzola, Italy. The role ensures test equipment is effective, reliable and maintainable, contributing to daily operations and long‑term strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Define industrial requirements and contribute to design specifications for test means and Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
• Perform, update and maintain Testing Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
• Support design, qualification and validation of ATE and test systems.
• Prepare detailed testing procedures and test reports; approve validation tests.
• Participate in Production Readiness Review (PRR) and First Article Inspection (FAI) activities.
• Train production operators on safe use of ATE and testing systems.
• Manage production hand‑over, oversee installation and monitor operational performance of test equipment.
• Drive continuous improvement, generate KPIs and reports on ATE performance.
• Control changes to ATE, maintain configuration integrity and ensure preventive/corrective maintenance.
• Engage in change management, including Change Control Board (CCB) participation.
