Security Officer 1 – Naples Campus

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Public Safety is seeking a full‑time Security Officer 1 for its Naples location. You will patrol campus grounds, protect people and property, and respond to emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol assigned property and monitor building entrances, exits, and access points.
• Verify identities, permit entry for authorized personnel, and enforce university policies.
• Notify local police when backup is required and control traffic as needed.
• Monitor surveillance cameras, report suspicious activity, and document incidents.
• Secure doors, windows, and exits at the end of each shift.
• Investigate trespassers and restrain individuals violating campus rules.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of relevant security or law‑enforcement experience.
• Applicable certifications or licenses as defined by the department.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with basic office software and computer applications.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
