Senior Field Operator – ChemPET Project

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Field Operator to join the ChemPET pilot plant project in Cerano, Italy. The role involves leading commissioning, start‑up and day‑to‑day operations of a chemical PET recycling facility, ensuring safety, compliance and efficient performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform commissioning, start‑up and operational activities on site.
• Ensure compliance with operating procedures, HSE requirements and project timelines.
• Carry out maintenance, inspection and equipment isolation/restoration tasks.
• Monitor plant systems and processes safely and effectively, working closely with control‑room operators and production supervisors.
• Apply Permit to Work (PTW) procedures and verify safety measures.
• Identify and control hazards to protect equipment, personnel and the environment.
• Record plant parameters using field systems and PLCs, and make shutdown decisions under abnormal conditions.
• Support continuous improvement of plant operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in field operations or plant start‑up.
• Background in the chemical or petrochemical industry preferred.
• Technical diploma in industrial or chemical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of HSE procedures and plant operations.
• Ability to work in operational and commissioning environments.
• Fluent in Italian; English is a plus.
