Senior Lecturer in Immunology (Teaching & Research)

About the role

The School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of New South Wales seeks a Senior Lecturer to lead high‑impact research and deliver evidence‑based teaching in immunology. This fixed‑term position (until 31 December 2030) offers the chance to shape the next generation of scientists and clinicians while advancing your own research programme.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage an independent, nationally recognised immunology research portfolio.
• Secure competitive research funding and build collaborative networks across disciplines.
• Supervise and mentor undergraduate, postgraduate and higher‑degree research students.
• Design and deliver engaging lectures, tutorials and practical sessions for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
• Contribute to curriculum innovation, ensuring relevance to infection, disease models and emerging biomedical challenges.

Required profile

• PhD in Immunology or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated record of high‑quality, high‑impact research with evidence of leadership potential.
• Commitment to staying current with advances in immunology, infection and disease modelling.
• Ability to obtain research income from national competitive grants or end‑users.
