Senior Site Manager – Clinical Trials

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Senior Site Manager to act as the primary liaison between the sponsor and investigational sites for phase 1‑4 clinical trials in Milano. The role ensures trial compliance, inspection readiness, and smooth execution from start‑up through site closure.

Key responsibilities

• Manage site feasibility, selection, initiation, and start‑up activities.
• Conduct site monitoring, track key performance indicators, and oversee study close‑out.
• Implement risk‑based monitoring models and resolve issues identified during visits.
• Ensure accurate and complete trial data, including safety data, and coordinate timely data entry and query resolution.
• Develop and execute site‑level recruitment and retention strategies in partnership with functional teams.
• Maintain full documentation of trial activities and communicate progress to Local Trial Managers and central study teams.

Required profile

• Strong communicator with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Quick learner, problem solver, and proactive team player.
• Experience managing complex clinical trials across multiple phases.

Required skills

• Good Clinical Practice (GCP) knowledge.
• Familiarity with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for clinical research.
• Experience with risk‑based monitoring approaches.
• Data management and query resolution skills.
