SEO Lead Editor

About the role

We are seeking a SEO Lead Editor to drive editorial excellence and search performance for a high‑traffic gaming hub. In this role you will combine hands‑on editing with strategic leadership, overseeing both human writers and AI‑generated content to ensure clarity, accuracy, tone and discoverability.

Key responsibilities

• Define, implement and continuously improve editorial guidelines across all content verticals.
• Lead quality‑control processes, review content, track performance issues and document recurring challenges.
• Develop and enforce standards for AI‑assisted content, ensuring compliance with SEO and UX best practices.
• Mentor senior editors, provide structured feedback and support career development.
• Review and refine content structure, tone, design and style to maximise engagement and search performance.
• Oversee SEO optimisation, including headline and article alignment with Google Search best practices.
• Drive workflow improvements using tools such as Google Docs and performance‑tracking systems.
• Lead initiatives for content innovation, including Google News strategies to boost traffic and revenue.

Required profile

• Proven editorial experience with responsibility for content quality and publishing standards.
• Experience leading or managing editorial teams and mentoring writers or editors.
• Strong understanding of SEO principles applied to digital publishing.
• Experience with AI‑assisted content creation workflows and editorial QA processes.
• Exceptional English writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Outstanding attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies and gaps.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities, capable of handling multiple priorities.
