Software Application Engineer (Digital Tech & Cybersecurity)

About the role

RINA is looking for a Software Application Engineer to join its Digital Technology and Cybersecurity Division in Italy. The role involves designing, developing, testing and deploying robust software applications that meet business needs while collaborating with product managers, UX/UI designers and other developers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, secure desktop applications using C/C++ or C#.
• Write clean, maintainable code and automated tests following best practices.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and implementation plans.
• Support verification & validation activities, debug issues and provide technical support to customers and internal teams.
• Document requirements, design decisions, APIs and maintain technical diagrams.
• Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand‑ups and retrospectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Software Engineer or Software Application Engineer.
• Proven ability to deliver high‑quality software applications.

Required skills

• Programming languages: C, C++, C#.
• Desktop development environments: Microsoft Visual Studio, VS Code, Eclipse.
• GUI frameworks: Qt, NI LabWindows/LabVIEW.
• UML‑based design and requirements tools.
• SQL database knowledge.
• Version control: Git.
• CI/CD pipelines and Agile development methodologies.
