Chef de Rang – Food & Beverage Service Expert

About the role

The Gritti Palace is seeking a motivated Chef de Rang to join its prestigious restaurant team. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, you will deliver exceptional dining experiences to an international clientele in a historic Venetian setting.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests, set tables, and provide attentive, friendly service throughout the meal.
• Serve food and beverages, make menu recommendations, and handle special requests.
• Accurately record orders and transactions using the MICROS POS system.
• Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, wait times, allergies, and dietary needs.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, inspect china, glassware, and silverware before use, and complete closing duties.
• Follow brand standards, SOPs, and cycle‑time guidelines for all service periods.

Required profile

• Passion for food and beverage service with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work a full‑time 40‑hour week in a fast‑paced, upscale environment.
• Physical capability to lift up to 25 lb and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Professional appearance and willingness to complete safety training prior to start.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the MICROS point‑of‑sale system.
