Direct Buyer

About the role

The Direct Buyer supports the purchasing team by managing the procurement of a wide range of commodities, materials, services and equipment. The role involves handling needs expressed through the MRP tool, negotiating offers, issuing purchase orders and ensuring order confirmation.

Key responsibilities

• Select and qualify suppliers, scouting the market based on technical specifications or distributor analysis.
• Analyse quotations, consolidate supplier panels and issue purchase orders in the system.
• Monitor supplier quality performance and coordinate with the logistics planner.
• Maintain continuous communication with suppliers and keep all procurement documentation up‑to‑date.
• Participate in daily, weekly and monthly department meetings.
• Ensure compliance with quality and environmental standards, procedures and instructions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a buyer or in a similar procurement role.
• Proficiency in SAP.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Master’s degree in Engineering or Economics is a plus.
• Experience in the railway sector is a plus.
