About the role
The Direct Buyer supports the purchasing team by managing the procurement of a wide range of commodities, materials, services and equipment. The role involves handling needs expressed through the MRP tool, negotiating offers, issuing purchase orders and ensuring order confirmation.
Key responsibilities
- Select and qualify suppliers, scouting the market based on technical specifications or distributor analysis.
- Analyse quotations, consolidate supplier panels and issue purchase orders in the system.
- Monitor supplier quality performance and coordinate with the logistics planner.
- Maintain continuous communication with suppliers and keep all procurement documentation up‑to‑date.
- Participate in daily, weekly and monthly department meetings.
- Ensure compliance with quality and environmental standards, procedures and instructions.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a buyer or in a similar procurement role.
- Proficiency in SAP.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Economics is a plus.
- Experience in the railway sector is a plus.
