Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will act as the primary point of contact for CooperVision within the assigned territory, driving long‑term sales growth and introducing new products to the market. This role combines territory sales management, customer training, and close collaboration with internal teams to ensure high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage sales activities for all customers in the defined territory, aiming to achieve yearly revenue and product‑mix targets.
• Develop and launch new CooperVision products to maximise market opportunities.
• Maintain deep knowledge of product, clinical, and technical information to advise customers effectively.
• Meet daily and monthly contact targets while optimising travel time for prospecting and visits.
• Deliver retail and clinical training programs, either independently or with Professional Services.
• Build strong relationships with Area Managers, Sales Representatives, and internal support functions.
• Ensure high service levels by coordinating with local Customer Service teams.
• Represent the company at seminars, exhibitions, and meetings to enhance the customer experience.
• Attend sales meetings to stay aligned with company strategy and performance goals.
• Accurately complete reporting, maintain the CRM system, and keep comprehensive customer records.
• Perform any other duties related to CooperVision’s business as required.

Required profile

• Proven sales professional with experience managing a large geographical area.
• Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Ability to influence stakeholders at all management levels.
• Strong understanding of ROI, forecasting, and financial evaluation tools.
• Excellent interpersonal, listening, and empathy skills.
