Nursery Teacher

About the role

Mile School in Milan is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic English‑speaking Nursery Teacher to join our Early Years team. The role involves creating a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children through play‑based activities conducted in English.

Key responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction by assisting the lead teacher with daily lesson plans, learning activities and educational games.
• Supervise and engage children during classroom activities, playtime, meals and outdoor play to ensure safety and promote positive behaviour.
• Assist with behaviour management, reinforcing classroom rules and guiding children in developing social and emotional skills.
• Prepare and organise learning materials, resources and displays to support hands‑on learning and creativity.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment, sanitising toys, surfaces and equipment as needed.
• Provide individualised support through one‑on‑one or small‑group assistance for children who need extra help.
• Observe children’s development and communicate concerns or progress to the lead teacher.
• Support daily routines such as arrivals, departures, toileting, meals and rest time, fostering independence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent (required).
• Relevant teaching or early childhood education qualification.
• Experience working with nursery‑aged children in an educational or care setting.
• Native or fluent English speaker.
• International qualifications eligible for recognition in Italy are welcome.
