Chief Steward – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Chief Steward leads the stewarding team at Hotel Cala di Volpe, ensuring seamless cleaning operations and supporting banquet and kitchen services in a luxury resort environment.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and assist stewards to maximise cleaning efficiency.
• Monitor and document water temperature and chemical levels for dishwashing.
• Assist with banquet plate‑ups, buffet set‑up and transport of service items.
• Provide cooks and kitchen staff with required supplies and support.
• Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations and trash compactors.
• Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching staff.
• Enforce company safety, security and uniform standards.
• Welcome guests, anticipate service needs and maintain professional communication.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant stewarding experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb and standing for extended periods.

Required skills

• Dishwashing machine operation.
• Hand‑wash station operation.
• Pot‑scrubbing station operation.
• Trash compactor operation.
• Knowledge of water temperature and chemical level monitoring for cleaning.
