Cook Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Cook Assistant to support our culinary team at our hotel in Porto Cervo. The role involves assisting the chef during busy periods, ensuring food quality, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate assistance needs to the chef and notify the manager of any product issues.
• Check and record appliance and food temperatures to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Monitor food quantities, portion sizes, and garnish presentation.
• Serve food in correct portions and onto appropriate receptacles.
• Set‑up, clean and break down work stations, including washing and disinfecting tables, tools, knives and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients – portion, chop, store, wash and peel fruits and vegetables.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes and company standards.
• Follow all safety, security and hygiene policies; report incidents and maintenance needs.
• Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous service to guests.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior culinary experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift objects up to 25 lb.
• Willingness to work full‑time in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
• Commitment to follow safety and hygiene procedures.
