Data & Analytics Internship – Italy

About the role

Oliver Wyman's Data & Analytics (DNA) team, part of Marsh, is looking for interns in its Milan office. DNA is a team of quantitative analytics specialists focused on Europe, working with clients in financial services, climate and sustainability, energy, retail and transportation. As an intern you will collaborate with colleagues and clients from day one, helping them solve pressing challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design potential solutions for analytical challenges and implement prototypes while assessing their effectiveness
• Work on projects such as an NLP-based machine learning toolkit to predict credit rating downgrades, portfolio decarbonization modelling for large European banks, and a customer-facing GenAI chatbot validation
• Build probability of default and loss models in Python, develop risk methodologies combining live data feeds, and build next-best-action models to reduce churn

Required profile

• Master's student in a quantitative discipline (Data Science, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)
• Data-driven mindset and ability to explain complex data science concepts clearly to clients and colleagues
• Strong commitment to teamwork and resilience in a fast-changing environment
• Excellent verbal and written English and Italian
• Interest in financial services and risk management is a plus

Required skills

• Programming in Python or R
• Eagerness to keep extending knowledge of technologies
