Director Government Affairs Italy

About the role

The Director Government Affairs Italy will shape the healthcare landscape in Italy, supporting Daiichi Sankyo’s 2030 vision of innovative, sustainable healthcare. Reporting to the EUCAN Head of Governmental Affairs and working closely with the Italy Leadership Team, this senior role drives policy insight, stakeholder engagement, and strategic messaging.

Key responsibilities

• Support the execution of global and regional Governmental Affairs strategies in Italy.
• Develop and implement a national GA strategy aligned with local Business Unit needs.
• Collaborate closely with the Country Manager and other members of the Italy Leadership Team.
• Create and drive stakeholder management programmes and related activities across Italy.
• Ensure consistent messaging and project implementation across all organisational levels.
• Monitor political and healthcare trends, producing position papers and messaging documents.
• Represent the company in external working groups, events, and industry conferences.
• Prepare and support Daiichi Sankyo representatives for key events, speeches, round‑tables, negotiations and conferences.
• Lead by example, building trustful relationships with stakeholders and institutions.
• Manage external agencies and monitor their performance.
• Work closely with Market Access, Communications, Medical and Commercial teams on interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Foster an open, creative information and engagement culture across the organisation.

Required profile

• University degree, preferably a Master’s in Political Science, European Studies, Public Affairs, Law, Journalism, Economics or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in corporate or institutional public relations, preferably within the healthcare sector.
• Proven ability to work with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
