Engineer – Wire & Cable (m/f/i)

About the role

The Engineer (m/f/i) – Wire & Cable will lead projects focused on New Work Certification, Performance Testing, and Follow‑Up Services for engineered materials, primarily serving the wire and cable sector. The role combines technical expertise with frequent client interaction via email, Microsoft Teams, and phone.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, cost, timeline, and sample requirements based on client input and product data.
• Communicate with clients to explain UL procedures, negotiate project terms, and address technical concerns.
• Develop and oversee test programs, ensuring compliance with UL standards and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate laboratory activities, prepare data sheets, schedule technicians, and review work outputs.
• Prepare project status reports, follow‑up service procedures, and technical documentation.
• Resolve non‑conformances identified during sample testing and support variation notice analysis.
• Contribute to the development of UL requirements, special test methods, and test equipment.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects according to customer timelines.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with UL standards, industry manuals, and technical literature related to wire and cable.
• Experience in managing laboratory activities and coordinating technical teams.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
