Guest Service Officer

About the role

The Guest Service Officer provides friendly, passionate, and committed support to guests onboard, ensuring a high level of satisfaction through active listening and problem resolution. This position requires a strong hospitality mindset, a sense of humor, and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment for a 5‑6 month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Listen to guest concerns, provide assistance, and resolve issues promptly.
• Handle cash transactions, manage US currency and exchange rates accurately.
• Operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers, and copy machines.
• Communicate tactfully with guests, department heads, and shipboard staff to negotiate resolutions.
• Maintain organized records and follow written procedures.

Required profile

• Friendly, people‑oriented, with a strong guest‑satisfaction disposition.
• Minimum one year of experience in a customer‑contact role within the hotel or related industry.
• Willingness to work onboard for 5‑6 months.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Fluent in Italian and English, both spoken and written.

Required skills

• Cash handling and knowledge of US currency and exchange rates.
• Operation of basic office equipment (telephone, computer, copy machine).
