Head of Procurement – Food Industry (Italy)

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Procurement to lead the procurement function for the food industry division in Italy. Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape sourcing strategy, manage a team of buyers and ensure supply continuity for ingredients, packaging and indirect spend.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a procurement strategy aligned with group and local business objectives.
• Lead buyers across ingredients, packaging and indirect categories, driving robust sourcing and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Integrate acquisitions, strengthen governance, ESG considerations and supplier innovation.
• Monitor market trends, price evolution and supply risks, and implement risk mitigation plans.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, data integrity and performance measurement.

Required profile

• 12+ years of procurement experience in an international consumer‑goods environment, preferably food industry.
• Proven track record in sourcing food ingredients, raw materials and, ideally, packaging and indirect spend.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience working in matrix organisations and driving organisational transformation.
