In-House Counsel

About the role
FlightHelp is seeking an experienced In‑House Counsel to support its mission of helping airline passengers obtain compensation for delayed or cancelled flights. Based in Rome, the role is contract‑based and requires on‑site presence, working closely with operations, finance and customer support teams.
Key responsibilities
- Review, draft and negotiate contracts, claim documents and legal correspondence.
- Provide legal advice on EU and international aviation regulations, especially EC 261/2004, and consumer protection law.
- Support negotiations and dispute resolution with airlines and other stakeholders.
- Monitor regulatory changes, assess legal risk and ensure compliance with internal policies and EU data‑protection rules.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop legal strategies for passenger compensation claims.
Required profile
- Law degree from an accredited institution and qualification to practice in at least one EU jurisdiction.
- Strong knowledge of aviation law, EU passenger rights and consumer protection regulations.
- Proven experience drafting contracts, legal opinions and settlement agreements.
- Excellent written and verbal English; additional European languages are a plus.
- Ability to manage high‑volume claim portfolios, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
