Industrialization Engineer

About the role

Rockwell Automation is hiring an Industrialization Engineer in Artegna, Italy, reporting to the Team Lead, Industrialization. The engineer supports the introduction of new products into the manufacturing facility and works with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure products and processes are designed for manufacturability.

Key responsibilities

• Support the introduction of new products to the manufacturing facility following the RA Common Product Development (CPD) processes.
• Work with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure optimum product and process design for manufacturability.
• Develop and maintain the associated documentation, estimate manufacturing costs and initiate prototype and pilot activities.
• Handle issues of diverse scope requiring evaluation of identifiable factors.
• May lead small special project teams within or outside the Industrialization group.

Required profile

• Desired Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent (minimum Technical High School degree).
• At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Professional background in electronics or a related field.
• Demonstrated understanding of the New Product Introduction process.
• Knowledge of Project Management, DFMA and Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
• Experience with SAP transactions in an ERP system.
• Good written and spoken English and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Required skills

• Understanding of PCB assembly and manufacturing processes and constraints.
• Design for manufacturing and design for compliance for printed circuit board assembly.
• Proficiency in IPC-A-610 and soldering processes, plus knowledge of coatings, underfill and manufacturing tests.
• Experience with high-density designs, through-hole and surface-mount technologies, board stackup and pad designs, and design rules.
