Ingegnere/tecnico automazione – sviluppo e messa in servizio

About the role

The company is looking for an Automation Engineer to join its design team and develop, integrate and commission control software for industrial machines and production lines. The role combines hands‑on programming with supervision of junior resources and ensures that all software meets customer specifications and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform functional analysis of machines and lines based on the client’s User Requirement Specification (URS).
• Create functional design specifications (FDS) and detailed software design documents.
• Develop automation solutions using PLC, SCADA and HMI technologies, or supervise other developers.
• Ensure software compliance with customer requirements, industry standards and current regulations.
• Participate in on‑site commissioning activities and support customers during start‑up.
• Collaborate with mechanical designers and process managers to align software with overall system architecture.

Required profile

• Degree in Software, Electronic, Automation, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Proficiency with at least one major automation development environment (Siemens TIA Portal, Siemens Step 7, Rockwell RSLogix).
• Familiarity with common fieldbuses such as Profinet, Profibus and EtherCAT.
• Basic knowledge of SCADA platforms (e.g., Wonderware Archestra, WinCC, Ignition, iFix).
• Willingness to travel for plant commissioning and strong command of English.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal, Siemens Step 7, Rockwell RSLogix)
• Fieldbus configuration (Profinet, Profibus, EtherCAT)
• SCADA/HMI development (Wonderware Archestra, WinCC, Ignition, iFix)
• Basic C# development in Visual Studio
• Python scripting
• Database handling (MS SQL, InfluxDB)
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 protocols (OPC UA, MQTT)
