Junior Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

ION is looking for a Junior Cyber Security Analyst to join its Markets Division in Italy. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in security monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response while working within a dedicated security team.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze and respond to security alerts and potential threats across systems and networks.
• Perform threat assessments, identify vulnerabilities, prioritize remediation and follow‑up.
• Operate, configure, tune and maintain security controls such as endpoint protection, network devices, SIEM and DLP solutions.
• Conduct threat hunting, investigate alerts, triage incidents and support escalation and response activities.
• Assist with vulnerability management from detection through remediation verification.
• Support containment, recovery and post‑incident activities.
• Execute application security tasks, including penetration and security testing.
• Maintain and improve security monitoring, logging and reporting capabilities.
• Help ensure compliance with policies, regulations, audit requirements and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, IT or a related discipline.
• Basic understanding of networks, operating systems and IT infrastructure.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management, incident response and security monitoring concepts.
• Willingness to learn scripting or automation basics (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
• Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent English (minimum B2 level) and a valid EU work permit for Italy.
