Junior Web Developer (Remote, EMEA)

About the role

Canonical is looking for a Junior Web Developer to join its fully remote web team serving the EMEA region. You will build and maintain high‑fidelity websites and web applications, ensuring they meet quality standards and style guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain responsive web pages and applications using HTML, CSS (SCSS), JavaScript, React and TypeScript.
• Update existing projects, add new content, and handle incoming feature requests.
• Collaborate with visual designers, UX designers, and backend developers to deliver cohesive solutions.
• Ensure accessibility, SEO best practices, and optimal web performance.
• Use Git for version control and participate in code reviews.

Required profile

• Based in an EMEA timezone (Europe, Middle East or Africa).
• University degree or equivalent education.
• Passion for web standards, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
