Junior Web Frontend Developer

About the role

Canonical is looking for a Junior Web Frontend Developer to join its globally distributed team. You will help design, implement and maintain modern web interfaces for Canonical’s enterprise products, using cutting‑edge technologies such as JavaScript, CSS, React and Flutter. The position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while collaborating with colleagues worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop responsive, well‑tested web components using JavaScript, CSS, React and Flutter.
• Debug and resolve issues reported by users to ensure a smooth experience.
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions and engineering processes.
• Collaborate with the open‑source community and internal teams on technical specifications.
• Write and maintain clear technical documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering and operational practices.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (BSc/MSc) in Computer Science, Engineering or a related STEM field.
• Strong passion for open‑source software and modern web technologies.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work in a globally remote, collaborative environment.
