Junior Web Frontend Developer

About the role

Canonical is looking for a Junior Web Frontend Developer to join its globally distributed team. You will work remotely on enterprise‑grade products, building rich user interfaces using modern web technologies and Flutter.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain well‑tested frontend features using JavaScript, CSS, React and Flutter.
• Debug and resolve issues reported by users.
• Participate in code and architectural reviews as part of the engineering process.
• Collaborate with community members and colleagues to define technical specifications.
• Write and improve technical documentation.
• Identify and propose enhancements to engineering and operational practices.
• Deploy and operate services developed by the team.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in Computer Science, Engineering or a related STEM field.
• Passion for open‑source software and cutting‑edge web technologies.
• Ability to produce high‑quality front‑end code and contribute to back‑end components.
• Willingness to engage with the broader open‑source community.
